Recovered from the discontinued Morte Outdoor Recreation Department, Artifact 002 served as a field-issued utility vest for off-grid navigation teams.
Each marking was added during active use: hand-drawn cartography on the front panel, field documentation codes on the rear, and serialized identifiers throughout the pockets and straps.
The removed pocket, altered closures, and mixed fasteners reflect mid-operation repairs—completed with whatever materials were on hand. Evidence of minor injury remains sealed beneath the top strap: a reminder that this vest was not manufactured, but lived in the field.
This piece is preserved in its final configuration.
